The special event featuring the Hautman brothers at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum has come and gone, but there’s still time to take in the arboretum’s exhibit featuring the brothers’ artwork. The exhibit, which includes all 12 of the original paintings of their winning federal duck stamp entries, remains open through Nov. 5. The Hautmans also created 50 new paintings for the exhibit.
In addition to the artwork, The Million Dollar Duck documentary will be shown on Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. According to the website, the documentary “focuses on the strange and wonderful world of the Federal Duck Stamp Contest, the only juried, art competition run by the U.S. government. This film explores the eccentric nature of the contestants who enter each year for a chance at wildlife art stardom, while also reflecting upon the history and challenges facing the continued existence of this successful conservation program.”
